Non Australian Couples often decide to marry in Australia and this is not a problem. Anyone from any country can marry in Australia provided they are free to marry and are over the age of 18.   I am still required to sight your birth certificate, Passport and Divorce Decree or Death Certificate. These can be certified by an authorised person in your country and sent to me along with your notice of intended marriage form if you are not arriving in Australia until your wedding date.   Some countries require an official marriage certificate before the marriage is recognized in their country. If this is the case an Apostle Stamp must be fixed by the department of Foreign Affairs in WA. You will need to check with your registering authority if this is required.   To do this I will require a registered copy of your marriage certificate for you (the cost is $40 from Births Deaths and Marriages and this is an extra cost) and I will then forward this to the Department of Foreign Affairs for you. This will then be sent to the couple. There may be a fee charged by the Department of Foreign Affairs and this will be checked before your wedding.   You may also require help in organizing a wedding venue etc for your special day, so please ask me about this service when you contact me.
